Madhya Pradesh offers a rich heritage circuit including the Gwalior-Orchha-Khajuraho-Chanderi-Bhimbetka-Mandu route. This circuit showcases a variety of historical and cultural sites, from forts and palaces to temples and rock shelters. A circuit focusing on ancient ruins and rock-cut caves is Vidisha-Gyaraspur-Udayagiri Caves. Narmada River Heritage Trail includes Maheshwar and Mandu, showcasing the region's connection to the Narmada River. Buddhist Circuit features Sanchi,Satna, Rewa, Mandsaur and Dhar. Wildlife Circuit includes Panna, Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Pench National Parks.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism Policy

Madhya Pradesh State Development Corporation was established in the year 1978 for the development of tourism in Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has been formed on 22nd February 2014. Madhya Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board has been constituted on 12th July,2005. The state tourism policy was first declared in Madhya Pradesh on 5th September 2012 in which tourism was given the status of industry. The State Tourism  Policy was revised in the year 2014.The main objective of which was to encourage private investment for the development and strengthening of tourism areas. The new tourism policy was unveiled by state on 16th September allowing private companies to invest in the sector across the state with a view to conduct and promote water tourism.
The water tourism policy has been implemented on 28th February 2017.
