Good News for MCA, M.tech: AICTE Change the Rules

Sujeet Gautam. All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has taken a decision to allow candidates with educational qualification M.Sc/MCA acquired before 2010 and M Tech in subsequent time to teach BE. Earlier, it was considered as curse for sometime for those who acquired it as they were disqualified from becoming Engineering faculty.

The candidates were on the agitative mood. Now, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has considered to go back to its own decision of qualifying these candidates and it has displayed the new decision on its website. Some people who acquired MCA-M.Tech or M.Sc-M.Tech and were teaching in Engineering as well as MCA colleges were suddenly disqualified by virtue of notification issued by AICTE in 2010.

This has a larger impact onthose who acquired this degree after 2010. Till 2-3 years ago there was not much development on that front. In 2013, most of the colleges started closing MCA curriculum due to lack of students; which was but obvious as many Engineering colleges came up and getting admission in BE is possible with even 40–45% of marks. Most of those acquired M Tech after their MCA or M Sc degree, were appointed as Engineering faculty with esteemed colleges. The number of persons with qualification MCA-M Tech or M Sc-M Tech rose to some 5,000 plus in India.
